The Woman Behind The Elbows

Hi, I’m Alexis Woody—licensed massage therapist, professional knot assassin, and your body’s last hope.

At The Knotty Body, I specialize in taking out your tension like it owes me money. Whether it’s work stress, bad posture, or just the crushing weight of existence, I’m here to knead your problems into submission—or at least make you forget about them for an hour.

Massage therapy isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. I went to school for this not once, not twice, but three times. The first two, I had to walk away because of medical issues that completely knocked me down. I know what it’s like when your body turns on you—when pain holds you back and healing feels out of reach. But every setback only made me more determined. It deepened my love for this work and my drive to help others feel safe, strong, and seen in their own bodies. The Knotty Body is more than a business—it’s the life I built out of resilience, passion, and a deep belief that healing should feel human.

And it’s not just massage. This business is a mix of everything I love: helping people, giving back to causes like K9s For Warriors, rescuing dogs, making candles, humor, and being my own boss—working from home with my pack by my side and peace in the air.

I specialize in deep tissue and trigger point therapy—aka finding the spots you didn’t know could hurt and somehow making it feel like healing. If you’ve got knots that have been freeloading in your muscles since 2009, I’m the evictor.

Not into the “deep tissue exorcism” vibe? I can also be Calm AF. My slow-flow massages are all about soft music, gentle touch, and pretending the outside world doesn’t exist for an hour. It’s like being wrapped in a warm hug by someone who doesn’t ask you to talk about your feelings.

Book a session. Or don’t. But just know—your muscles are absolutely talking behind your back.

Massage Meets Mission:

Supporting K9s for Warriors

I’m proud to offer animal-assisted therapy as an optional massage enhancement—not just because animals are incredible healers, but because this experience gives back in a meaningful way. During your session, the calming presence of a trained dog helps reduce stress, ease anxiety, and enhance overall relaxation. It’s like emotional support with fur and four paws.

What makes it even more powerful? All donations for this enhancement go directly to veteran organizations, like K9s For Warriors—a nonprofit that provides trained service dogs to military veterans living with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and other service-related challenges.

And if you'd like to take a little piece of the mission home with you, check out our Candles For K9s line—hand-poured soy candles named after real dogs, created to soothe your space while supporting the same incredible cause. A portion of every candle purchase is also donated to our mission.

It’s healing that smells good, feels good, and does good. Together, we’re bringing comfort, connection, and a little more light to those who need it most—one knot, one candle, one dog at a time.

Thinking about booking? Your back already said yes.

Contact me to schedule, ask questions, or nervously over-explain your pain—no judgment.
